ABOUT CANOE HOSPITALITY:

Canoe Hospitality is a premiere hospitality procurement firm specializing in furniture, fixtures & equipment (FF&E) and operating supplies & equipment (OS&E) for hotels, resorts, and branded properties. Canoe is a fully remote company; every team member works remotely from across the United States, with a business office in Annapolis, Maryland. We manage the full procurement lifecycle on a turn-key basis, including forecasting, strategic sourcing, purchasing, logistics, installation, and closeout, delivering projects on budget, on schedule, and to brand standard.

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead and grow of our OS&E division. This is a senior leadership role responsible for OS&E strategy, client and vendor relationships, team development, proposal support, and the continued growth of the firm’s OS&E pipeline. The ideal candidate is a seasoned hospitality procurement professional who can operate at a strategic level, lead successful project delivery, strengthen client relationships, and build the people, processes, and systems needed to scale the practice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead OS&E strategy and oversee the full procurement lifecycle across multiple concurrent projects.

  • Advise clients, operators, and project teams on OS&E product selection and vendor strategy, presenting appropriate commodity options, manufacturers, alternates, and recommendations based on brand standards, operational requirements, budget, quality, and lead time.

  • Ensure projects are delivered on budget, on schedule, and in compliance with applicable hotel brand standards.

  • Own and grow client and vendor relationships, serving as the senior point of contact for OS&E engagements.

  • Lead the OS&E team, including mentoring, and managing procurement managers who handle day-to-day purchasing execution.

  • Drive business development through client presentations, networking, and representation at industry trade shows and conferences.

  • Support the development of procurement proposals, preliminary budget forecasts for prospective clients, responses to RFQs and RFIs, and other client pursuit efforts that contribute to the continued growth of the firm’s project pipeline.

  • Provide expertise on OS&E systems and software and lead the development of OS&E standard operating procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8-10 years of hospitality procurement experience, with demonstrated OS&E expertise.

  • Expert-level knowledge of the full range of hospitality OS&E commodities, including guestroom, front-of-house, back-of-house, housekeeping, engineering, food and beverage, meeting and banquet, wellness, spa, uniforms, collateral, and operational start-up supplies.

  • Extensive knowledge of OS&E manufacturers, distributors, vendor sources, product standards, pricing structures, GPOs, lead times, and appropriate alternates, with the ability to independently guide clients and project teams in planning and fully outfitting hotel operations.

  • Command of the full procurement process: forecasting, cash-flow projection, scheduling, strategic sourcing, purchasing, logistics, delivery, installation, and closeout.

  • Experience with procurement / project-management software.

  • Demonstrated leadership building, mentoring, and managing project teams.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple high-volume projects simultaneously.

  • Self-directed, with the discipline to excel in a fully remote environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated leadership building, mentoring, and managing project teams.

  • Demonstrated business development or client-facing experience.

  • FF&E procurement experience in addition to OS&E.
